Meet the Dream Team : Norm Oliver

Majoring in Art, Norm graduated from California State College Long Beach in 1971. Beginning his professional career under Santa Monica architect Carl Day, he served his initial thorough apprenticeship in architectural drawing. After this period he moved back to Northern California to his home territory. Here he worked as a home designer and estimator for a Santa Rosa construction company before going out on his own as a designer in 1982.

Today there are numerous examples of Norm's work in the city of Sonoma's east side. While homes of his design have included styles such as Mediterranean, California Mission, and Victorian, his first love is for those in the Craftsman style. He is especially proud of his successful integration of new home construction into existing neighborhoods of older Sonoma homes. Although he has also done many new homes on acreage, his remodel assignments in the city highlight maximizing livability in form and function. With each project comes across his desk, he works carefully as he strives to embody in each home a consistent overall sense of good artistic design. This design approach begins with careful listening. During the entire design process he works closely with his clients to integrate their ideas and dreams into an aesthetically pleasing home.

Norm lives happily in Glen Ellen with the love of his life and his two dogs.
